Hey--I was researching back in older posts and read that beebalm can do okay in shade. How bad is the invasion problem? The thread was filled with people who adore it--interspersed with people who wish they'd never met it--it took over their LIFE!

IF it does grow in shade, maybe the conditions would make it less happy, and it wouldn't go nuts on my.

I lived through an onslaught of mint. Never again.

Any ideas?

Coleus Giant Leaf (mix) from Burpee is 3'.

Ah! I guess I DID find one! I passed on it because this year I'm going with cooler colored flowers (and coleus). I'm mainly going with chocolate mint and watermelon coleus (approx. 12", I think).

But THANK YOU so much for the suggestion! It is truly appreciated. I think next year I may leave Burpee for one of the cheaper seed companies. From what I hear, people love their seedlings/when grown just as well.

But I'll ALWAYS get Burpee's 4th of July tomato. I've never found one better for our Missouri climate, amazingly early, endless production, and edible at one sitting-sized tomatoes. Dang, I love them. Unless, of course...they improve upon it!
