i built my first sfg (4 by 8 foot) and filled it with vermiculite, peat moss and 2 kinds of compost( home made compost made with kitchen scraps and coffee grounds and some rotted cow manure). my plants are not growing well. the weather has been unusually rainy and cloudy which hasn't helped. but i wonder if the mix is lacking some essential nutrient. i am committed to organic gardening, so i do not want to go the 13-13-13 or miracle gro route? any suggestions for an organic amendment that will give my plants a boost? paul
