I'll be talking about native plants for shady gardens. And I may bring some species I like a lot that don't fit into that category, too, just cuz I like 'em and want others to know about them.

I will have handouts. I like talks where it's made easy to retain the info, so I figure other poeple do, too. And I'll have as much actual plant material to show 'n' tell as I can. Late May is actually a kind of down time for blooming stuff, but I'll bring what I can, and what will fit around my swappables, of course. Indoors I usually do a PowerPoint thing, but that won't quite work at the Swap. :)

I'm about as big as a projection screen now so it might might work if we could plug in an overhead.

Marty we can get an electrical cord over to the swap site if you need it.

I'll bring my laptop with images that folks can look at. I would need a powersource for that, as cycling a slide show sucks the battery power down in no time. There's no point in trying to project a show in broad daylight, it just won't show up.

BTW, if shade garden plants isn't of major interest to Swappers, I can talk on something else. I haven't put the program together yet -- I just landed on that topic cuz Jeff (aka PimpPuff DiddyDaddy) expressed an interest, and nobody else objected. :) But I'm open to suggestions if anybody has some other burning desire.

A fine topic I say. Shade plants are very cool. Shade gardens are cooler in summer to hang out in and what's best is weeding is rarely necessary. I could leave my shade garden for two years and then weed the whole thing in an hour. And probably 90% of weeds are tomatoes, squash etc. from the compost. The wildflower 'weeds' stay of course. :-)

Marty, I think that shade gardening is a good subject. Go for it.
