Growing Tomatoes

Indoor Seed Start

I live in Z 7-8 with the last projected frost date of April 21. I would probably wait until May to put plants out. When do you think I should start them indoors? I have a mini greenhouse (no heat except sunlight) that I can put them out in on warm days.

I live in Middle TN and tend to start mine mid to end of February normally. This year I started most of them this past weekend, but am going to have to formulate some type of plan to put them outdoors in late March so they won't takeover the house...lol. I imagine i'm going to buy a cold frame of sorts.

IMO feb.15th to 20th is a good time for your area. Plants would get to big and root bound without repotting 2 to 3 times if you plant seeds to early. harden off starting April 1st-- plant out april 15th or later. Good Luck Bill
