    Hi, just an update.
Well as you all ready know we know have four people interested in the cactus round robin.

Not knowing how many more will join in on the game. I think we should wait for at least 5 to 10 in total by the end of the month before we all get board and not go on with it. What do you all say?

As for terms, I suggest we set an exchange amount. My suggestion would be five ready to root cuttings? What do all of you think?

    Thanks, farmerted361:)

Your suggestion sounds fine to me. I do have some rooted stuff that I would like to trade, so how about five ready to root cuttings MINIMUM? Also, is this for only cacti or are succulents allowed?

    Thanks. Paul

    Hi farmerted361

I'd be very interested in this one. I also have some rooted ones as well, so I agree with the five unrooted cuttings minimum. And yes, what about succulents?

    Thanks!

    Hi, Paul

"Your suggestion sounds fine to me. I do have some rooted stuff that I would like to trade, so how about five ready to root cuttings MINIMUM? Also, is this for only cacti or are succulents allowed?"

Well we now have five people in total. A five set minimum is fine. I would also suggest that small cuttings (rooted or not) are fine, this I think would keep the shipping cost down. Its really the sharing of plants, I guess succulents are fine as long as everyone else has no objections. It would be almost hard to exclude them since we all grow different cacti/succulents. I myself grow a few, but I am mainly interested in N,C, and South American cactus. So as I stated earlier, by the end of the month or when people speak up that they want to get it overwith and trade now!
Thanks to all for giving your.

Hi, is this an exchange or a robin?

Ooohhh... come on Dusty. Stick around. I'll cover for ya :-).

No, you would not be sending out 50 cuttings, you would only be sending out five cutting to each person. In any road if each person where to take one out and pass it along by the time I'd get the box it would be full of dried cuttings fit for the trash can knowing our mail system! I know that there are different ways of doing a round robin, and this is the way I remembered being part of one many years ago. If five cutting is impossible for some then I think we should cut it to three. Now if there is another way of doing this round robin, and if all of you wish to do it a different way please let me know. I think if this is a stumbling block then we can call this a closed issue.
    Thanks, farmerted361:)

Hi, I would be sending out 50 cuttings?A robin is where you pack a box and send it around to people, and each person takes what they want and replace it with another cutting, I don't know that I have 50 cuttings to share, you might want to explain this on your gw thread as others don't sound like they have lots to share. thankyou carol

Okay I can do it. Even if I have to go buy a couple to get to 5. I need more Cacti anyway! Thanks Paul for the offer!

    Farmer,
These are for named Cacti correct?

    ~Dusty~

Ok, Hi folks. I give up! I think I'll just trade on another forum with someone that into cactus and thats it. I also trade Heirloom tomato seeds no problems in those forums. I don't need the headaches.

"I don't see how this would work, I have been doing RR's for 3 yrs now, so am sure what they are. Please explain it on the thread so I can see if anyone else understands it. thankyou carol"

    Oh FarmerTed,
This was such a great idea! I thought you explained how it works perfectly well. Please re-consider. I'm not sure what there is to not understand... We get the box.. take out 5 cuttings.. replace it with 5 cuttings. Easy enough for me.

Hi, that is not the way it was explained. it says we send 5 cuttings to each person, here is a copy of the post(No, you would not be sending out 50 cuttings, you would only be sending out five cutting to each person. In any road if each person where to take one out and pass it along by the time I'd get the box it would be full of dried cuttings fit for the trash can knowing our mail system! I must admit I didn't really understand how this was going to work either, but decided to wait to see how it unfolded. Oh, well... maybe one of you ladies would like to organize this. I would do it, but I don't need the headache :-).

Since me sending 5 cuttings to 10 people seems a lot like me sending 50 cuttings to me. I will drop out and you can go ahead, I won't be here to question you, If anyone wants to start a cactus rr I am in. sorry carol

Oh my goodness, I am not even in this and I understand. Yo don't send 5 cutting to 10 people. I mean YIKES!!! You take and replace 5 cuttings!

Please read the co ordinators words again, as he says each person sends 5 cuttings to every person in swap, see I am right yall aren't understanding. ok here is a copy of the post again.( you would only be sending out five cutting to each person. In any road if each person where to take one out and pass it along by the time I'd get the box it would be full of dried cuttings fit for the trash can knowing our mail system! Stop flaming this issue like a dead horse! Who cares! I don't understand why your making such a big deal about it?
You or someone else that wishes to continue with a cactus round robin fine, the best of wishes.
As I stated, "this a closed issue"
    Nuff said.
