please post pictures of more views of the room so we can respond appropriately. Can't tell about windows, floor covering, funiture, lighting, etc. from your pictures. Looks inviting.

Lots of wood to paint...a chore, but I like the fact that it runs horizontally. I would paint everything, that is NOT wall, light. Maybe BM November Rain as it is a great neutral to pair with natural wood. That means woodwork, any trim and any surface that is no wall.

What I love is that whitewashed panelling (on both walls and ceilings) can go with just about any decor. Modern, rustic, traditional, eclectic, transitional... So I tried to show some different styles and applications in the photos. And unlike painting the paneling (which I also like), whitewashing doesn't prevent a future owner from staining the wood darker at a later date if they want to.

I wanted to whitewash my yellowed knotty pine walls, but the sample our painter did for our approval looked very "un-uniform" from panel to panel. I feared the large-room result would be somewhat a hodge podge. These pictures however appear to have very smooth, uniform whitewashing.
