That looks a whole lot like pond apple, annona glabra. They aren't very good.....edible but not very eatable. The seediness is a turn off for me. I would be very suspicious of it. Would want to taste before I bought.

Thanks, I figured you would know bout this fruit. I don't have room for anything but the best.

I agree with Harry. I've heard this discussion before on another forum. Besides...I'd be suspicious of description or write-up from TT.

I did not look at the description on the website, but the fruit that is known as the golden apple in some Caribbean countries is also known as June Plum and is very popular in Jamaica. It is very tart & I guess an acquired taste, one of the reasons being the large spiny seed, but is used to make a very refreshing drink, and is very tasty stewed with brown sugar, cinnamon and other spices. I have dwarf tree in a pot and I love it. It gives fruit all year round.

I thought the same thing as well, Pepperseed.....but looking at the Top website, it is definitely an annona and looks like what we call pond apple. They are not selling June Plum as Golden "Sugar Apple."

Richard Wilson at Excalibur had an introduction called Golden SA. Some of his have been good, some not so much. Not sure if mine will survive the cold damage. Perhaps Murahlin can provide info.

Its not a Pond Apple. The flowers are huge and look just like a Soursop flower. Pond Apple flowers are much smaller.

Besides if TT was trying to sell Pond Apples (which are native to Florida) as some kind of unusual Annona from Costa Rica, too many locals would call them on it.

I never said that they were pond apples. I said they (the fruit) looked like pond apples. The way the flesh is on the multiple seeds also looks like pond apple. Pond apple flowers are pretty good sized. They are similary sized to Soursop...at least at my house they have been comparably sized.
