Wow, what's your secret? I've had a plant for about 2-3 years and it's never fruited.

Mine always rot on me. What do you use for soil?

Yeah, good questions. My secret is as much sun as possible. I fertilize it every couple weeks with superbloom. And water regularly. I use a good quality potting soil such as you'd get at Home Depot and grow them in a 20 gallon pot. Not to worry, my brother's plants produce small fruit and he lives in Waipahu Oahu on what used to be a Pinapple field. He says it's neamatoades. Below is last year's crop.

Great pineapples housonpat! I harvested my very first pineapple yesterday, it was delicious!! It took appx. 18-20 months from when I planted the top of one that I purchased from a local grocery store. It has one "pup" right now. Do I just leave that one in the same pot with the mother plant and hope it will give me a pineapple later? Or do I remove it from the M.plant and repot it?

Thanks, here's a couple of pics...

I need to buy superbloom then, because I have never fertilized my pineapple plant. Thank you.

Nice pineapple puglvr. Myself, I just leave the pups and prune out the finished fruiting sections in the fall.

Thanks houstonpat, I will just leave it and see what happens.
