Hey Checko12, your leaves don't look very bad at all. Cherimoyas may get those leaves when newly transplanted, from strong winds and from lack of water. I live in SoCal also and the little rain we got yesterday was estimated at about .11 inches which is not enough to water your tree. With newly planted trees, you should inspect the soil to determine how often and how much to water. Every garden is different and its easy to stick your fingers down into the soil several inches to see if its dry or not. My garden soil in some areas is very quick to drain and for newly planted trees, I water lightly every 2-3 days.

Today, because it is Extremely dry and super windy, you may have to water your plants even if you just watered it yesterday but check the soil first before you water. Your damaged leaf tips will probably get a lot worse today and tomorrow because of the dry windy conditions but you shouldn't worry too much because if your tree was planted correctly and you give it the proper amount of water, it should sprout new leaves and branches shortly.

If you want to be safe, you can put some stakes into the ground and give it some sun/wind protection. Normally this is not necessary, but because it is so dry, windy and on top of that its super hot and sunny today, your newly planted tree will do better with some protection. This is probably the worst weather to have a new tree in the ground but it should do fine.

Another thing you should consider very soon is heading back your tree to above the graft. Cherimoyas grow very vertically and I personally like to head my trees to about 2-3 ft tall. Some of my previous trees were seedlings so I didn't have to worry about the graft but just make sure you don't head your tree below the graft.

When you head your tree back, you will soon see new growth coming out of where the leaves used to attach to a main stem or trunk, find 4-6 of these new growths coming from the trunk to use as your future main branches, try to select them so that they are evenly spaced. When you have selected these branched, you need to tie/weigh/stake them to the ground so that they grow almost parallel to the ground instead of growing straight up.

This early training of your tree will make it much much much easier to hand pollinate, harvest and manage your tree in the future. When you head your tree back depends on how healthy your tree is. If you feel it is weak from transplanting, you can let it grow a little and head back later. If you have had your tree in a pot for a while and know it is healty, you can head back immediately.
