Good to see that you found your way to the GardenWeb! We all love it here. I bet there is even an iris forum that you could look at and share all of your wonderful knowledge about irises!

I found a great spot in my garden for your iris and it has already started to grow new leaves. I really hope that I will get to see it bloom next spring and I can't wait! Thanks again for sharing your irises with Lisa and all of us!

Hi Mr. Larry I am so glad that you finally got on the web.

One thing that I wanted to ask, do you know of anybody growing Irises in central Florida? I planted some but I'm not sure even tho most research on the internet says good to zone 9. Lets pray they make it they are one of my favorites.

I received one of your iris a few days ago also and want to thank you and Lisa from the bottom of my heart. You are a genuine gardner, and a true gentleman. And your love for gardening has spread all over the US! Wow, that must feel awesome, it sure would to me. Also, I think Lisa is just an awesome person with a tremendous heart to do this for you, and us. We all feel honored.

Please tell us any stories about your iris. I would love to hear them and I know everyone else would too, and we'll all benefit from your vast amount of knowledge.

Thank you again for sharing your irises with us! I look forward to seeing photos of them blooming next spring from people who received them.
I imagine you have seen hundreds of cultivars and I would love to ask you one question. What do you consider the truest red Iris you have grown? I have burgundy, claret, garnet, and other reddish TBI that I have purchased over the years trying to get to real red.

Hi, Larry!

After everyone said their irises had started growing new leaves, I had to take a closer look at mine. It has two tiny leaves starting to grow! I guess that means it is happy in its new home. Next spring, when they all bloom, we can all post pictures so you can see how well all of your iris are growing around the United States.

I was sent 2 little starts, one so small I didn't think it'd make it, BUT both getting new leaves. Don't know if they are from the same plant or not -- hope to find out next yr, but as you know they don't always bloom the yr after planted...
I'm just so happy to be a part of spreading your garden around! I can't wait til they bloom!

Gee it's great to hear from all of ya. My background in irises goes back only 25 years... The house I just left to come to this community was purchased just for the space large enough for growing irises.. Thus I was able to grow approx 1,200. However after I moved here All my garden layout maps were destroyed and all my garden books were donated to the American Iris Society Region One..

Never the less I will attempt to keep in touch with G.W. and answer as many irises questions as I can .. Okay ?

Haven't gotten a bloom yet, of course, still way too early here in soggy Massachusetts. BUT, I thought I'd post to say how well Larry's Iris is doing. When planted last year I had two small rhizomes. They both got a couple of new leaves each. This spring, they are growing fantastically! There are six shoots with several leaves each. I can't wait to see what they look like in bloom. I hope they will send flowers this year.
