The lawn forum is one place to go. I do know this is typically a problem of moist grass, so some measures are likely in order. I assume you have fescue. In my experience with this problem, it did not go away without some type of intervention.

Yes, jbcarr, What intervention is neccessary? The grass is still brown in patches. Will it eventually die?

The grass may eventually die if left untreated and the conditions are right...high humidity, watering late in the day and nightly low temps in the 70's. I had what I believe was brown patch in my lawn. I treated at the end of June with Bayer Advanced Lawn Fungus control and the spread of the fungus stopped. The lawn just recently appears to be recovering.

Make sure you don't water late afternoons or evenings. Also, use a sharp mower blade.

If you are hesitant to use chemical fungicides, some recommend applying corn meal. If it works, this will take several weeks to have an effect.
