vinegar has a ph of around 3? worms need something like 5-9 from a quick web search - i'm wondering if you might be able to stick them in a blender with some ? baking soda to neutralise the acidity - worms already use calcium carbonate in their digestive system afaik

at any rate if you start small, with maybe half a pickle's worth?, you can't go far wrong

i'm a big fan of precomposting but it'd be fun to see what a blended pickle baking soda mixture would look like :P

thinking further - the most worm friendly thing to do might be adding ground up egg shells

i'm still sad for the pickles though

vinegar in any strength is a no go for worms, so drain the pickles. the worms will avoid the pickles until the bacteria are done with them. then the worms will eat the bacteria.

Pickles are also salty. I will not feed anything salty to my worms.

"They are still sealed and the canning lids are still sucked down." should be good for decades. Toss your worms something, an old tomato perhaps, and put the pickle on your sandwich.

Worms. Salt. No.

People. Yes.

on thinking further about this i remembered some calcium type stuff we collected from an old lake bed. so i thought wth i'll sacrifice some pickles in the name of good science
