There are about 6 zillion mini roses to choose from if you want small. If you want the traditional shrub rose the Antique Rose Emporium and Weston's both have very knowledgeable people to help you. PJ

I have had wonderful luck ordering from Chamblee's in Tyler. It might be worth the drive over there.

For low-growing, mannerly roses for the front yard garden, I recommend Pink Gruss an Aachen, Marie Pavie, & Valentine. Chamblees carries all three. The Antique Rose Emporium carries the last two.

Oh, and I saw Marie Pavie & Valentine at Nicholson Hardie garden center in Dallas a few weeks ago. In fact, I bought a Marie Pavie while there. The Antique Rose Emporium was their supplier. You might call first.

If you live in North Dallas, you need to go to Northhaven Gardens, on Northhaven Rd., near Forest and Central Xway (75). It's the best. Also, any Calloways will have lovely roses.

Look at Ducher, a China. I find the foliage alone attractive. Click on the photos link above the picture for more images including what the mature plant looks like.

I have Valentine and agree with randy. (I've got to get one of those Pink Gruss en Auchens!) Marie Daley is a fine, tough small rose.

La Marne is also a fine, tough choice. Mine even blooms in part shade.

Republic of Texas (only ARE) is a sweet, small yellow.

I know you say you want roses, but also consider companion plants. You have a beautiful nursery right in your own town there in Frisco. Check out Shades of Green at 8801 Coit Rd. north of 121. They specialize in native plants, but also sell EarthKind roses and adapted plants for our region.
