I live in a 1948 house with plaster walls and golden oak hardwood floors and trim. I would like to replace all the trim & doors with white---but am not sure if this is the best thing to do. (in terms of resale) I think it would look more modern, but then some ppl are nuts for plain wood trim. Any ideas?

Without seeing your home interiors I think you should assess how the natural wood looks now. If it is fairly good shape, most home buyers enjoy seeing the original finishes- even if just re-stained. Although, there is also a trend in painting white trim or off white trim to mix modern and old styles.

Look at these examples and see if the aesthetic feel in these are what you would like to replicate in your home.
