Don't recall the name of it, but it looks very much like a flower/weed I have. Grows about 2 feet tall and puts out blue/purple bell shaped flowers all along the stem. It is really an attractive flower and does well in light shade or sun, tolerates dry/gravelly soil yet likes good moisture, and is quite competitive. Unfortunately, it also spreads through the roots (and probably seeds) and becomes terribly invasive in a flower bed.

adenaphora confusa or lilafolia, can be very agressive-- lots of seeds, sends runners, get large tap root like dandelions. lovely spires about 2 feet tall of medium blue flowers. reblooms if your cut first flowers down. good cut flowers. if you have lots of space and a waste area and want a field of blue haze in mid june and late august, let it go. you can mow it and keep it flat -- stays green all year.
