I have not been able to find the correct name of this plant as it seems to have many different ones. Rest your mind though about how it is being spread. The seeds have little stickers on them and attach to everything. In addition to the fur on every creature that comes in contact with the seeds the birds also eat them and pass through their bodies. So far I have not seen any place where they have spread by their roots.

The flowers and seed heads look similar to carrots and Queen Ann's Lace but the plant lack the carrot like root. Try to keep pulling the plants or you could try painting herbicide on the leaves. I did break down an apply Round up to a few plants as a test. The plants wilted, looked sick for a couple of day then straightened and lived the rest of the season. I am now pulling the from the many places they seem to be living.

Looks like nut grass. When you pull it up you leave the nut and some more of it in the ground. I am trying to combat this stuff by painting with a small paint brush with non diluted roundup. That way I do not kill my good plant. I will know by next summer how successful this treatment is working.
