Do you mean Japanese Knotweed? If so, it's very tough. There are discussions about it on various forums on Garden Web.

Nope, Thats not it. This has narrow pointed leaves. When I was a child we used to cut it to make a fishing pole.

Thats pretty discouraging. At least the lot is other wise cleared except for a large white oak tree and some Lob Lolly Bays. Maybe we can try to control it before planting anything else.

I haven't tussled with it yet but I understand it's a tough one.
