please help me identify this

I had two in my garden they were both crowding some peppers /I'd tucked in my perennial bed. They have small white flowers like peppers, they have a sturdy stalk and tree-like branches, it has dark green leaves saw-toothed and in threes [it's not poison ivy] there were scads of small green berries they turned blue, tastes slightly sweet, the berres are green inside and filled with tiny green seedsw, I pulled it out and left in in the sun for a few hours, then I planted it in a pot and it's come back to life, [sounds just like weed behavior to me] I like it and will be using it as an ornamental, but what is it? Are the berries of any use? birds??? or is it poisonous to my dogs?

I can't identify your plant right off the bat, but I will suggest to you that it is never a good idea to sample the fruit of any plant that is not entirely familiar to you. There are some very toxic members of the Solanacea family.

If no one can help you in this forum, perhaps you should try the What's This Plant forum?

It is part of that family. Sounds like garden huckleberry.

It's not a regular huck the plant is not at all woody, the leaves are much bigger, Also I do have nightshade in our woods in the boggy area, but this doesn't vine. The berries are mildly sweet, I suppose it could be a huck of some kind. I didn't eat the berries I just tasted them.

Petunialover, read the information on the link I provided. Garden huckleberries are not part of the huckleberry family but a part of the nightshade family. As Rizo said don't eat what you can not identify. Get yourself a good plant book or more and start reading about weeds, Some of the display and botanical gardens have plastic covered folding sheets that give the most common flowers, weeds, trees etc.
