There are many species of plants we call dandelions and some do look just like those in the picture. I have had people tell me that the plants that grow up now with small yellow flowers cannot be dandelions because they only grow in the spring until I show them the fall dandelions as well as the spring and summer dandelions, with many different yellow flowers.

Looks like one of the Asiatic Hawksbeards, VERY pesky in Texas. When I saw the picture, I thought, "Wonder if this person is in Texas?". Sure enough!

Strongly resembles first year yellow rocket. The basal leaves and shiny appearance is common to many wild mustards. Do these get a tall (12-18 inch) stalk that produce yellow or white 4-petalled flowers? They may resemble broccoli flowers. If so, it is a wild mustard of some type.
