Chickweed. Good as green manure. Dig it into the soil.

Chickweed, like many other "weeds", would be a good green manure, although the plants can, and do, root at nodes. The simplest means of control is to cover the plants with a good, thick mulch although turning it into the soil can be a means of control.

Hi from Napa. If you have some plain cardboard, put it on top the weeds and then put mulch over the top. The worms will love you, the weeds will die and you will be turning your soil at the same time from the worm's activities.

Thanks for your suggestions. For the time being I turned them into the soil. Next step is a heavy mulch.
