I love this. Theirs have a brass loop (lamp finial type) that gives a more finished appearance, but your wires come out the top, so gluing on an ordinary lamp finial won't work with your wires. I found a metal finial at Home Depot that appears to have a hole in the center. It is metal not brass, though. Perhaps it could be made to look like brass? Like j222 I was just about to suggest having a metalworker add some brass finials. One out of the box solution would be to look for old brass jewelry parts... a metal cuff that can be bent and fastened around the middle of the lamp etc... it might take some finagling!

You could also make it more morrocan by adding color... rich hues of dappled gold and magenta etc.

I like it just the way it is. Sometimes the more you try to enhance something you ruin its originality. It looks Moroccan enough already.............love it.

Your lamp is wonderful and Moroccan in feel already. How about a tube of shiny fabric slid over the chain. More fabric, the more it looks ropy.

Take it from someone who is North African...your lamp is fab and very traditional. Although, I don't know why people insist on calling everything "Moroccan" since this style exists everywhere from Mauritania to Dubai. I think you might simply want a slight patina - the other lamp simply has a more aged look and you can do that yourself with a bottle from the hardware store. I like yours better by the way.
Hint: it's the way you are going to use colors and decorate the rest of the room...you only need a few choice pieces...a rug, a pouf, a large lush palm. Good luck!

And for God''s sake if you buy any of those items don't pay the criminal prices of $200+ for a leather pouf, or $300+ for a low brass tray table and stand...they only cost me $15 US and $20 US in Egypt so their markup is offensive. Shop around...you can find a better deal

I would do as csabdalla suggests and add a patina to it. I currently live in the Middle East and can assure you that that the lamp looks Arabic.

I think it is already just fine. I had to look a number of times at the two photos to see any difference. If you wanted to finish the top a little more with a finial maybe. But it is just fine as I see it.
