Kelloggs Breakfast produces well for me and I think has great taste. The fruit are large, 12 to 16 oz.

Tom's Yellow Wonder for a mid-late season, and do try Yellow Brandywine again, if you get the chance.

Lucky Cross is a big predominantly yellow bi-color that I never plan to be without.

There are very few yellow varieties that remain yellow at maturity, most turn gold.

And I highly recommend the variety Aunt Gertie's Gold as a superb large slicer b'c of the wonderful taste. Very complex and not sweet. It is a late season tomato but I have no problem maturing it here in my zone 5 so you should have no problem in NJ.

Dr. Wyche's Yellow is another one that should meet your needs and by all means try Yellow Brandywine again b/c it too has great taste.

And no, yellows, read golds, do not all taste the same. Quite distinctive tastes.

Finally, please do try Lillian's Yellow Heirloom, a large lucious PL gold, as part of your quest to find a tasty gold.

I grew Persimmons this year. Very large and tasty.

Sungold is orange...Are you looking for true yellows or yellows/oranges/golds? Kelloggs Breakfast, persimmon, lucky cross and aunt gertie's gold are definitely not yellows in my book.

Carolyn, thank you. I actually did mean gold... I love when they finally ripen from lemon yellow to that deep school bus gold. I guess I normally see them classified as 'yellow' so I stuck with that. AGG is on the list already (seed in hand) for next year.... I'm hoping thats a ringer as so many people mention it. ah ha! thats what I was hoping to clarify... gold tomatoes are a distinct taste... The only gold tomatoes I've ever had were the ones from my back yard, so i have nothing to judge by whether mine are accurate in taste or not. They might have a taste I just haven't come to appreciate yet and therein lying the rub. Thank you Carolyn, thats exactly what I was trying to find out.

jtcm, I'm not really looking for anything true other than taste... I just happen to adore watching yellow/gold tomatoes ripen, they look so lovely, and I love having them on my counter to pick from and choose for meals... I just adore looking at them, so cheery. Lemonboy is such a treat to watch grow... I'd hate to not have yellows/golds growing but I'm just not finding one that suits my (admittedly underdeveloped) taste. Thank you so much for the list of what to try!

Just at my first Furry Yellow Hog...not sure if it was characteristic of this type (maybe others who also got these free seeds can comment?) but it was extremely sweet, very tomatoey, and had an excellent texture. I would absolutely grow it again.

Dr. Wyches yellow, so gooooood!

It's considered a white, but it's actually a pale yellow when it is ripe. You might like Snow White Cherry.

Another delicious large tomato you may want to try is Pineapple. It is a bi color yellow with red streaks, but very attractive, large, and delicious! I grow it every year.

At SSE tomato tasting event last year I found the Dr. Wyche's yellow tomato the best tasting of the bunch.

Wow, Summer Cider is a beauty. It looks orange, but would you be able to compare it to KB or Amana orange?

Richard, Summer Cider is a pretty tomato for sure but most folks I know who have reported back on it have little positive to say about the taste.

What do you think of the taste as compared to the many other varieties you've grown?

I grew a Lemon Boy for the first time and, like you said, it was a good producer and had a different taste. It's not the way to go if you're looking for a traditional tomato taste, but I thought it was a cool change. The citrus flavor was very good in my opinion. I have some pics on my blog linked below.

I grew Dr. Wyches for 3 years, first year it was not productive at all but tomatoes were very good. Second year it was again not productive, and tomatoes were not good. Third year (last summer, when the sun shone for the entire summer, and everthing tasted good) production was excellent, taste was not. Did not grow them this year.

Re. Kellogg's breakfast, have been looking forward to growing/tasting for a while...finally had one starting to ripen, but seemed a little more orange than I expected...a few days later, it seems a little more red than I had expected...oh well hopefully my other plant will be the correct variety.

Summer cider looks orange to me. Not yellow. Yeah, rich....how'd it taste?

A few years ago I grew Lemon Boy because a friend had too many seedlings for her own use and gave me some. It had a milder taste than the usual red ones I always grew. Last year and this year I've got Tangerine that's a yellow medium to large tomato with excellent taste. Several haven't made it to the house after picking. So far my red ones haven't started to ripen. The Tangerine is way ahead of the others, but that's here in Wisconsin.

Along with Sungold - which end up being devoured by children (mine and others), I'm growing:

Sparks Yellow
Sweet Tangerine (Burpee)

I don't eat tomatoes, I just grow them, but the 'eaters' around here seem to enjoy them for more than their color.

Can someone give me some indication of the other choices as compared to these 2 yellows?

I grew Dr. Wyche Yellow this year - great flavor and not many seeds. Production was not prolific - I would call it moderate.

I'm heavily into heart and paste tomatoes, and have a couple yellow hearts that are meaty, succulent, great flavor, and early. Verna's Orange Oxheart has been first to ripen one year, Herman's Yellow from Sandhill has been very productive. Lucky Cross also yields great and is mostly yellow with red streaks. Between the 3 my excess tomatoes I was cooking down last year were more yellow than red.

I have had good years of Taxi and Wonder Light in the past but also bad years and like the hearts better.

Has no one mentioned Golden Dwarf Champion?

While it is a pale yellow, it does taste great. It's one of my favs and I grow it every year!

I will throw in for Pork Chop as well. Got my first taste and it was a winner. My sister really likes Kellogg's Breakfast, she asked me to start some for her this year.

I've been growing Dixie Golden Giant for the past 4 years. It is very meaty and has great balance of sweet and acid zing. No salt needed for these.

It is early/mid , very productive , good balanced taste.

I have also grown pineapple. I likes it but it was on the late side for me.

There are so many yellow/orange/gold varieties. How about Russian Orange ? It seems to be very popular. But it is said to have 90+ DTM.(red light !)

I am also going to grow another Russian yellow: SAKHARNYI ZHELTYI. for the first time. It is supposed to be sweet and mid season.

Some people swear by KB and KBX. I grew KB in 2015. Very lazy producer. So my biggest find is Azoychka so far.
