Bosch v. Frigidaire Professional appliance suite

I'm on the steep part of the learning curve. We are remodeling our kitchen and getting all new appliances. I can pay about $500 more dollars for a decent Bosch package 800 series DW and Fridge with DF range. Or for $500 less, I can get Frigidaire Professional series with their Hybrid Induction range. The Frigidaire package with DF range is ~$900 - $1,000 less than the Bosch. I looked at the GE Cafe appliances, and unfortunately, I don't like the finish on their stainless steel. I am quite taken by the Samsung FD 4 door refrigerator, so I am also considering mixing and attempting to match, e.g KA DW, Samsung fridge, either induction or DF or gas range. I like the idea of going with Bosch, first of all because I like the aesthetic, secondly, because I am a guy who has always appreciated Bosch tools. I like the Frigidaire Pro -- looks nice to and seems well put together, and I like the idea of the induction range for performance and safety issues ( we have a 6 & 8 y.o.). A salesman told me that Frigidaire Pro isn't using real stainless -- is this true? They claim "real SS", and I like the finish,especially that it resists fingerprints. Any opinions, experience, recommends will be greatly appreciated.

I have the 800 series DW (SHE68E15UC) that I got about 2 months ago. It is extremely quiet and does a great job cleaning dishes. What I like best about it is the top rack for the silver ware. Every piece is separated and I put all of the same utensils next to each other which makes for a faster empty. You will read that some people do not like the European tines for the plates and glasses. Some feel they are too small. I have Pfaltzgraff plates which are big and clunky and have no issue loading.

I also have the free standing French Door Fridge (B26FT70SNS ). This is something new for Bosch. After about 2 months I have no issues. There are 2 of us and we entertain often and love the output from the ice machine. We have yet to run out. It is also very quiet. It is about half as quiet as my old GE Profile SxS.

I don't have a range though but I did get their induction cooktop which is my absolute favorite piece (NIT8665UC). This thing is amazing. Yes, I had to get new pots and pans (goodbye Calphalon, hello Le Creuset), but it was worth it. I love the stainless trim across the top and bottom, the way the 'buttons' are integrated into the trim, the ease of clean-up and the responsiveness of the system.

Good luck with your decision making. It can be a bit overwhelming at times.

Definitely mix and match brands - research the appliances individually - you'll do much better that way.

Do Not Buy Bosch. My two year old frig has had a replaced ice maker, and a broken door handle. Now the range cooling fan is in need of repair. High end bosch appliances have broken and the frig has never made sufficient ice. I do not have children so the frig door handle could not have been damaged from children. The appliances are over priced, they look good until the handles crack and they sto functioning. I will never buy another Bosch appliance again

Well I hate my Frigidaire Professional appliances. Fridge completed died and is unrepairable in less than 3 years. I'll take icemaker issues over a dead fridge.

I have a mixed kitchen. Bosch induction cooktop ( like Boschboy, my favorite appliance), and a Bosch dishwasher, 2nd favorite appliance. my dishes have never been so sparkly clean, even using eco mode. I too love the third rack for silverware and small items .
I have a love/hate thing going on with my Samsung french door with drawer fridge. Love the storage arrangements. The icemaker, however, has been a big issue.
Kitchenaid wall oven/convection microwave combo round it out. I love having a wall oven. I don't use the microwave much. I do wish the oven baked more evenly. I have to turn quiches and baked goods halfway through, which is disappointing.

I would definitely buy a Bosch induction coooktop again, and I'll never buy a different brand dishwasher-- so quiet. even 5 years later, and does such a great job on my dishes and glasses.
