Like U said, why would I pay $5.95 to "make" bread? Making bread is cheap and easy. No mix needed. Any bread baking book will get U started. I own two bread machines. My zojirushi is my favorite. It makes elongated loafs and can be programmed for long rise times. Zojirushi has a website where you can download the cookbook that came with it for free!

I inherited a bread machine and used it for the novelty for awhile. In general you'll do better just buying flour and a jar of yeast for your bread machine.

Most recipes use a ratio of (this is only approx) 2 parts flour to 1 part water. add a little salt and sugar, and one or two teaspoons of yeast and close the beast and you're done.

Bread mixes aren't much easier. A bread machine recipe book might be worth the price.

I don't like the bread baked in my machine so I just use it for the dough setting.
