Thank you.....It was fun this weekend! Had a nice bonfire, told ghost stories and decorated it for Halloween...you know the mid west type stuff...pumpkins, cornstalks.

Thank you.....I noticed that you are in the landscape industry, as I am. This cabin was built with timbers we pulled out to replace with a pre-cast stone system instead of discarding them. Also, most landscape renovation projects have allowed me to bring any excess plant material to this site to design/build on the fly!

Looking forward to the 1st snow with the cabin complete! There's something "Norman Rockwell" about sharing a warm fire with family, friends, wine and the holidays. I think we all still have a little "settler spirit" that we try to connect with.

Your welcome! I totally agree, get backmto basics, family nature and just good simple times. I rent a 15x15 log cabin every year for my Husband and I along the Myakka River in South Florida. Escape from the daily stresses and listen to the peace. Enjoy!

We've had this vacant piece of property in our family for years and decided to finally use it for a little project. I always thought it would be fun to get a few folks together and build a "small community" of structures like this just for weekend get aways! This popped up again and went back thru it - great idea the small community of structures - like I mentioned before - the fun is watching it grow - My Dad began a small community long ago on Gun Site Mountain in Anchorage. It began with a little cabin - then a bunk house - a cabin for my brother who was confined to a wheel chair after a hunting accident (he could get around great on a snow mobile), then a big beautiful cabin out of all natural materials for gathering friends on the mountain - my older brother had a bit of a cabin thru the trees and up the mountain - Anyway - gabby today, but your photo brought it all back -
