Wow! You wore out Mr. Induction!?! Mine is Mr. Induction, too. :) Question: How much longer will your redo last? Do you have a good use for the countertop model when it's over? How much does the Avanti, or other that you're looking at cost? Can you get a January closeout at a local restaurant supply store? Or would it make sense to wear out another Mr. Induction? (I think mine was $150 including shipping.)

Oh! And it is worn out, right? Not just overheated or damp?

The range is nearly useless, so I got a countertop induction unit for the interim. The interim has taken longer than I hoped! We are just finishing the cab specs and bid documents which means it will likely be another 6 months until the kitchen is finished. I've learned not to get my hopes up for a quick project.

The Mr. Induction has been used many times a day for more than 18 months. A few weeks ago, I was intermittently getting 'E7' in the timer window while attempting to turn it on. The error code occurs, now, every time I use it. It works when the unit is unplugged and replugged into the outlet. That won't keep fixing the problem for very long! The model is a 951T. I checked with the manufacturer who will repair it. I can't be without a cooking heat source, so even if it is sent in for repair, I have to have something else to use. I had not thought of searching for a restaurant supply store. I will look into that. I have also wondered about buying a built-in two-burner unit and constructing something to hold it. DH is not adventurous, so that likely will not happen. It would be nice to have two burners, though ;-(

Another question: Have you checked to see if the problem is the outlet? Or the plug/wire? But, yeah, it sounds like something is definitely shot. :)

If it's an easy fix for Mr. I, you could get a new unit now, and when Mr. I is fixed then you'll have two!

Good luck.

An outlet failure would be a lucky, easy fix! But, it is not the outlet. The cost of repair will determine if the Mr. Induction is repaired. Thanks for your good wishes!

Try looking at newegg.com. here is a URL that gets you a couple to choose from. I got a cheapo from them very quickly....

Hey, thanks for the newegg.com suggestion. The first one on the page is the same model that died, 951T! I'm still thinking about what to do.
