Remove the door panel and flip the handle around so it bows the other direction, if that's possible?

Not possible, unfortunately. The handle forms an arc and the drawer 90 degrees on the left runs right into it.

How much clearance do you need? Can you recess the DW deeper, which may require remodeling the wall behind it?

No option on handles. Kitchen Aid, among others will make dishwashers without handles and this is probably your best option.

So do I have to buy another dishwasher or can they swap out a door? It's a KUDS50FVSS

Your options for the DW are:
--lucking out and finding a handle somewhere that fits.
--building a recess into the wall behind the DW so it can be pushed in further.
--a different DW.
--revising the adjacent cabinet with a filler piece so the drawer doesn't hit the DW.

I saw your other post about your range not fitting either. What happened here? Did your KD and GC not pay attention to the appliance specs? Why aren't they solving this problem? Meaning recessing the DW vs a filler piece in the adjacent cabinet, and talking with the countertop fabricator about the range.

I think we'll have to have another flatter handle fabricated. I think the cabinet designer did not pay close enough attention to the DW and range specs. The drawers to the right and left of the range are very close as well - he didn't allow an extra 1" clearance.

I showed the problem to the cabinet installer and he is redoing the drawers - making them a tad less wide - so the top one does not hit the handle. Problem solved.
