I have a 2 week old Kenmore dishwasher and the door latch failed (stuck in locked position) while the door was open. I think it may have happened because the start button was pushed before the door was completely closed, but I'm not sure. Either way, even a hard reset didn't fix the problem. It's under warranty, and I have a replacement latch on order (Whirlpool P#W10380262)...so in the meantime, I took the door apart and was able to pop the latch back open and things seem to be working for the time being.

I am wondering if the replacement part will be any different (it is a different part number, but the pictures online looked identical), or is this a design flaw and I should ditch the Kenmore completely and find something else?
