pre-grouting questions

I read in Bill's FAQ that porcelain tiles generally should not be sealed. Then in the thread on pebble floor he (or someone) mentioned that the recommended sealing was not to waterproof the pebble tile but to make clean up after grouting easier.

1. My porcelain shower tile is rough to the touch, so I am guessing that grout cleanup will be a serious issue. Could/should I put anything on the tiles before grouting?

2. The mosaic accent tile is 1 inch squares of glass alternating with what I suspect is travertine. The surface of the travertine squares is pitted in places. Should the accent be sealed? if so, before or after grouting?

Kerdi is under all the shower tile.

Thanks in advance

Sally
