Need Christmas stocking hanger advice

Yes, I'm still getting ready for Christmas! :)

This is my first year at hanging stockings from the rock mantel.

Are stocking hangers really that expensive?? The cheapest I've found is at Amazon. I believe 4 for $16.00, and those are "clips" which is the style I want because I don't want a design/character sitting on top of the mantel to hold the stocking.

Should I go ahead and order those from Amazon, or are there cheaper one's out there? I need about 6 of them.

Is there another way to hang stockings from a mantel?
