My first 2008 Tree

I posted on my blog today about my first 2008 Christmas tree. My artificial 3' master bedroom tree from last year 'grew' up to a 6 1/2' tree this year.

Here is a link that might be useful: The Gypsy's Corner

Your tree is very nice, as was your last year Master Bedroom tree. It looks much bigger than 3 ft.! I love the symetry (sp?) and spacing of your decorations. It seems that no matter how hard I try, I always end up with "clumps" of ornaments and clumps of empty space instead of a nicely spaced ornaments. (see my what picture to use on Christmas card" thread) How do you accomplish that?

Tam, Your bedroom tree is so very pretty and I love the colors you used. Your new fairies are gorgeous.

pdg, I struggle with the symmetry issue every year. I organize all my ornaments by type and try to distribute them evenly across the tree. Based on Judith's advise I start with the ornaments that go on the inside of the tree first. Second I put my favorite larger ornaments in more prominent spots and then use the medium size ornaments and lastly add the small or thin items to fill in. My issue is that every year I don't think I have enough ornaments. I strive to someday create tree's like Judith and some of the other friends here.

sandi, thank you. I am not usually a pink person but the tiny bit of pink added really worked. I love how it all sparkles, especially since the maintree downstairs has more of a woodland feel and is not as 'shiny'.

Tam, your tree is a delightful beauty. I love the soft color scheme you chose, and your winter faries, I think, are my favorite. I agree, your tree appears to be much larger than actually is. Beautuful job.

Tam, it turned out gorgeous! I really loved the little one last year along with the white and gold ceramics too!

You sure found some pretty ornaments, and I loved how you did some nice close up pics for us to see them more clearly. You've sure "got it" for creating beautiful displays. TFS

Tam, I absolutely LOVE your pink tree! But then, i've had a pink tree for the last 30+ years, so i'm prejudice when it comes to pink Christmas trees. When I saw your toe shoes, I thought of my own that i'll soon be getting out of the box to hang on my tree. They're my original shoes I wore when I was about 11 years old, and i'm a little older then your Mama would have been(bless her soul). I lost my own Mother several years ago, but when I place the old shoes on my tree every year, I lovingly remember her putting them on my feet for the first time.

Incidentally, a 6 1/2' tree in the MB is perfect~a great nightlight. ;o)

Tam - beautiful tree but then I too am partial to a pink bedroom tree. Mine may go up over the weekend - right now I am working on a red and gold tree - it is almost done and I am very pleased with it so far

Love the fairy ornaments - well I just love everything about it - thanks for sharing....

Oh Tam! How beautiful and elegant. The fairies are to die for. I can't believe the difference a year makes. Your last year table was darling. But, this year's fall table is simply breathtaking. I will steal the stocking for silverware idea from your last year Christmas table, only I will be looking for blue ones.
I can't wait to see your 2008 Christmas table.

Your bedroom tree is gorgeous. I put up a pink tree in my family room last year. I loved it so much I decided I wanted to put it in our bedroom this year so I can fall asleep looking at it! I found pink fairies at TJ's last spring with the idea of adding them to my pink tree. Your fairies look wonderful on your tree so it encourages me to try out that idea. We're getting new carpet in our bedroom(a few too many puppy accidents) and so I can't put my tree up until that is complete. I'm chomping at the bit to get started! Again - absolutely gorgeous tree.

Tam, there's not much I can add, everyone else has it pretty well covered. Want to come decorate mine for me? LOL

Pdg, I think I went to the same school of "clumps" as you! Sure hope I've learned a few things here that will improve upon my last year's decorating.

    hugs, Karen
