First two trees done

These are the two main trees in my living room - I made all the beaded crystal snowflakes and icicles. I am pretty pleased with how these turned out - I do need more plain ornies to put into the center (I thought I had enough) but that is for another year.....

I agrre with the comments so far, your trees are dynomite. Wonderful job making your decorations. I'd love to know how to make snowflakes out of beads also. My mom made alot of beaded crafts and I have a large box full. I paint and so haven't gotten into the beading projects. Thanks so much for sharing your trees with all of us.
You ladies are so talented on here and I don't have enough time to see everyones beautiful displays and post but I have enjoyed everything I've seen so far.
Luvs, thanks so much for inviting me over. Now I have even less time to cook, clean and whatever else I used to do. LLLOL

They are both beauties but I love the first one. Love the color combo.

Oh my...they are just so Beautiful. What an EXCELLENT job you did. Your ornaments are just so lovely. I like how you put the ribbon on the trees..it looks like it was 'woven' into the tree. Also, I'd like to see close ups of your snowflakes too.

Lynne, Your trees are very pretty. That tourquoise, lavender and silver is gorgeous and very unusual. You did a wonderful job.

thank you everyone for your kind words - you all have been my inspiration this past year. I just realized that I don't have the big bow on the red/gold tree....oooppsss. The trees are $10.00 after Christmas sale from Dollar General - reg $20.00.

Jane - the ribbon has frustrated me for several years. This year I was at our local big Christmas store and sketched out how they had done the ribbon. I filled the inner part of the tree with the plain shiney ornaments - then wove the ribbon in and then did the rest of the decorating. It worked out a lot better for me than putting the ribbon on last as I always done in the past....

Oh my gosh, these trees are GORGEOUS. I've grabbed the pix for our album. The first one has the colors I love.
The way you did the ribbon, your beautiful bead ornaments, well I'm just blown away. Thanks for the great close-up photos too, that really helps to SEE just how gorgeous it all is.

I love your trees. I have been wanting to put ribbon on my living room tree for a couple of years but haven't known how much to buy. Is that a 7 foot tree? How much ribbon did you need? It looks like you had 4 streams. Is that right? It's helpful to know that it works better to put it on before the ornaments. Any other helpful hints? Again, beautiful trees. I'm itching to start decorating. I'm waiting until after Thanksgiving.

Lynne, you sure turned inexpensive trees into a real thing of beauty. They are both gorgeous, and I love your snowflakes and icicles. What did you use for the pointed tip of the icicles if I may ask? I love the way you made them two toned too. Your garland drapes just right, and the bows and ribbons are gorgeous. Everything looks perfect. Luvs

Lynne, absolutely gorgeous!!! This season and time of year just makes me smile and feel so good!!! You know what, your snowflake ornaments gave me a wonderful idea for class projects for my youngest son's, my nieces' and my 3 babies' previous schools fund-raiser auctions. They each have class projects which they auction off in a live auction. They are all Catholic schools, so what I am seeing when looking at your snowflakes are individual beaded crosses created by each of the children in the class, decorating a small tree....forgive me, I'm thinking and typing at the same time.... I know where I can get semi-precious stone beads for not much at all....the chip strands are very inexpensive! ooooh even little ones could do this!!!! Then take inexpensive plastic or even glass plain ornaments and have each child either simply sign several (for younger kids) or write a meaning of Christmas on ornaments for fillers....with a metallic sharpie....

Ooooh, I Love this time of year!

Lynn, what beautiful trees! I can't thank you enough for your explanation of how to do the ribbon. I've struggled with that for years---it never looks just right. I finally started wiring it on last year (I'm slow) but was still putting it on last. Thanks for the great tip, and those lovely pictures :)

Your trees are beautiful. Look like they are professionaly decorated. I will have to try the ribbon that way next year. I can't believe the amount of work put in to do the beading and snowflakes and the crocheted balls. I have to say the ice icles are my favourite. Thanks for all the pictures.

Lynne, your trees are scrumptious! I especially love the purple/blue/silver combo and your handmade ornaments make it extra special. I'm among those who have tried the ribbon and could never get it right. Thanks so much for the tip and the pictures.;o)

As always my friend Lynne does an OUTSTANDING job. Just BEAUTIFUL. And she has only JUST begun everybody. LOL!!

Thanks for the close ups!! Would love to make some of those iceicles!! They are soo pretty. Looks like the snowflake is made on pipecleaners??

Allibeth, welcome to the forum. Sounds like you get to see the beauty of Lynne's creations "for real". From what we've seen so far, I certainly would have to agree with you. Can hardly wait to see more. ;o)

    Lynne,
I remember when you posted about the purple ornies. That looks gorgeous - the ribbons are always a mystery to me. You did great. I like the little tree to the side with all the dolls too. Would you post more pics of that one sometime?

The little tree to the right of the aqua/lavender tree is my angel tree - it is up all year rouned. When I was putting my ornaments away last year I realized that I had a lot of angel ornaments - my Mom was taking a turn for the worse so I put them all on one tree and really liked the idea of leaving it up because so many of them were ones that she had made over the years. I didn't even think to take a picture of it when I did the others because it is always there. When I get the rest of that room decorated I will be sure and get some good pictures of it :) .....

I am red addicted, so my preferred one is the red tree. However, the silver/lavender one is wonderful too!
