SketchUp 3D Model

We recently got our final plan back from the architect. I would love to see the plan in 3D. Does anyone have a recommendation of service that might put our plan into SketchUp or some other 3D model

I downloaded SketchUp and played with it a little, but I

don't have the inclination or patience to figure it out.

I googled SketchUp services and found a few firms overseas that sound like they might could do it; however, I'd love a recommendation from someone before proceeding.

No looking for anything fancy. Thought it would be neat to preview potential finishes etc.

Google "architectural rendering" and you should find what you need.

Why wouldn't your architect provide that service for you? Rendering services can be expensive and you won't be able to easily change the results. I would take the time to learn SketchUp, it's a lot of fun.

Architects charge more to render a drawing than do rendering services.

The cheapest way is to buy the software and do it yourself.

Some architects or home designers dont have the capability or desire to learn the 3d programs. Costs can vary based on the complexity of th plan and roof lines and the amount of detail you want to see inside and out but you would pay architect or designer either way. Sketch up is a nice tool but can intimidate many and it is limited in its free program compared to some 3d programs. Most just dont have the time or patience or computer savy to learn it. Sometimes its better to make money doing what you do best and let others do the same. To each their own.... The process should be a fun one !

SketchUp is a serious architectural design tool and is a bargain at $500. The free version is just something to fool around with in my opinion.
