Trouble sourcing Daltile trim pieces

I am nearly ready to tile a bathtub surround but am having trouble getting Daltile trim pieces. We are DIYers and ordered Arctic White subway tile from Home Depot. Precision H2O makes the trim for daltile but cannot sell it to me and the Daltile store in my town can't either as I'm a homeowner and not a contractor.

Any suggestions on how a DIYer can get some Daltile chair rails?

If you have a Prosource in your town, you can try them. That's where I got my Daltile.

I got mine through a local tile store, but my architect has gotten them direct from Daltile - if you know anyone in the trades they might be able to order from the warehouse.

I'm surprised you can't special order it from Home Depot.

Did you go to the Daltile site to check who the dealers are in your area? I was in the same boat as IÃ¢ÂÂm using the biscuit color. I could order the tiles themselves from Home Depot but not the trim. However, there was only one place out of the two locales listed that I could order from as the other was to the trade only. I then had to pick it up from the trade only location even though that was not where I purchased. I ordered from a full service kitchen and bath store.

Daltile showrooms are trade only. In our local one we had trouble ordering at first because they didn't have a record of our tax ID # and we didn't have the card.

But we have local places that retail Daltile other than Home Depot from which you can order.

Have you looked for a tile or flooring store. Can Daltile sell directly to the customer?

I have been researching the same dilemma, also looking for Arctic White. Wayfair.com has the Modern Dimensions chair rail (12" long) which is a nice style, very spendy but the cheapest I've seen it ($11-something per piece, depending on color). SouthCypress.com has the 2 x 6 chair rail at $3.21 per piece. Build.com has the Rittenhouse Shelf Rail but horrifyingly spendy. Any local building or flooring store that carries Daltile should be able to source it for you (price might be a shock), and it's even possible that they might be able to order it through the Home Depot store even if it is not on their website (I have not tried that route yet.) Also I have not tried color-checking the in-stock chair rail from other manufacturers in Home Depot and Lowes to see if by some miracle the match was close.

In my experience, no, Daltile showrooms are not allowed to sell directly to the consumer, they are to-the-trade only.

Your installer can buy it directly from Daltile, that is what we did. Also, Home Depot and Lowe's have a lot of tile online that they do not have in the store, just do a search in their websites for the specific pieces you need, they may turn up.
