Are you looking for an all aluminum window or an aluminum clad wood window?

Here are two aluminum windows/door manufacturers that I'm using in our house. These might not be the absolute best, but they are pretty darn good, at least in my book. I'm on the west coast:

Fleetwood Windows

Not exactly sure what you want to achive here. However if you want something super sturdy you can go for something like Kawneer.

Kawneer make doors and windows and aliuminium glass curtain wall for large office buildings.

For a more traditional look check out their 8400 TL ISOLOCK window. These windows are also special in that they are blast resistant.

Kawneer is a subsidury of Alcoa, the aluminum company.

The purpose of the windows is to keep rain out, and to look and be trimmed like all our other dbl hungs. We want something that will look like a traditional double hung, but b/c the porch is unheated, just need it for wind and rain resistance.

In the winter, the single glazing will be installed, but in nice weather, it should be removable to just leave a full-length screen. Or, the window shd function just like a dbl hung, but the sashes should be removable during nice weather.

I can get the same dbl hung as used in the rest of our house, but they are too expensive, and all the energy efficiency would be wasted as the porch is not heated. The Larson trim where it mounts to the frame makes it look too much like an aftermarket storm window.

We are in South West Louisiana and initially were impressed with the construction of, and the dealer's sales pitch of BILTBEST aluminum clad windows.
Unless you can get the dealer or the factory to recommend installers you can expect numerous problems. According to the dealer that is why we have so many problems with $57k worth of windows and exterior doors!

The dealer has gotten back to us many times with various reasons why a year later some of our windows are still not fixed!

"The last 2 sales reps quit and the new guy doesn't know anything".

Finally he paid the Jeldwen' dealer (a friend of his) to personally come out and fix the windows. We are still waiting on a window balance from the factory.

BILTBEST's customer service SUCKS!

Milgard windows are terrific. Not only are they affordable (get several quotes and try lumber yards for even better deals) but their customer service is top knotch. We just had all new Milgard windows put in our new construction home and part of the bottom sash on several were out of line. The rep came out in 2 days and ordered all new bottom sashes for every window and is going to come back and personally put them in himself. Very impressed with the quality of this customer service.

I wouldn't go with Bonelli personally. We had a pretty bad experience with them which my wife and I documented on the site below.
Bottom line: be careful of any low-e tempered glass. The quality has to be good enough to avoid being scratched at cleaning. Bonelli's quality is not there.

This is a old post but wondering if there are any updates from those who have Bonelli or Fleetwood windows/doors. We are in East Bay and got quotes on both. Fleetwood quote is almost 10k less than Bonelli. I like the quality of the Bonelli when we went to the showroom but we have also heard good things about Fleetwood.
