lcd hd tv?

I need to buy a tv for kitchen. I am putting it on the wall. I think I need one about 23 inches, maybe smaller. Can you suggest what I should look for. I have to buy it today so my dh can hang it. We have the wedding in 3 weeks so we can't waste time. He is upstairs sanding the BR. Just an average priced tv. Thank You

Check out the Electronics Forum, and also CNET.com for reviews. Or just go down to Costco and buy whatever fits, as long as it is not a Phillips. That's the brand that gets the most complaints on the Electronics forum.

Here is a link that might be useful: Electronics Forum

Thank you so much. I don't know what I am going to do with myself when this madness stops. I think I am going to miss it?

We love our 26" SONY Bravia. They used to make a 23" Bravia, discontinued it, and had discontinued the 26", too by the time we were ready to buy it (and we have a friend who works for SONY and could have gotten with a discount!). PC Richards still had them though (in May of this year), so DH ran down there to get ours. I know with SONY's, you are paying for the name but the Bravia's also got great reviews (and the height worked out for our space as well, other brands' 26" flat screens were too tall for our kitchen counter space under the upper cab).

Sharp (Aquos) and Samsung make small flat screens that seem to be popular, too. If you like the idea of the Bravia though, you might still find a smaller-sized one online (check out Amazon.com, too)

Thank you. I went to PC Richards and it was a mad house. I will go after work tomorrow. Thanks for the information.

fairegold - Thank for the info for Price club. I am going to check that also.

Phillips is also Magnavox. Just a scan of the electronics forum tells me to avoid those brands!

Samsung, Sony and Sharp are good brands. We have a 23" 720 p Samsung that we move around though it came with a wall mount. Before you buy, ask if it comes with a wall mount -- some do/some don't.

It's small but very crisp. For flat screens you want LCD.

No need to pay extra for 1080 p (higher resolution) unless you have/will get the special high definition service.

Most programs look great on 720 p flat screen anyway and that's what all the regular channels work on.

Our newest set has the 1080 and we can't use that setting all the time.

We have a 35 (or is it 32?) Philips LCD HDTV, and when watching true HDTV, it is awesome... Sporting events, national geo, and PBS are some that I can think of, and it is so unbelievably crisp and real. When it's not true HDTV, it is just fine. Probably a bit sharper than a regular tv, but nowhere near when you have a hdtv channel.

(this depends on your cable provider, and the actual station).

    Good luck!
