Bosch - made in Germany.

Frigidaire - made in China.

I do not have the frigidaire, I have the Bosch.

1. I live in an area with hard water. The small Bosch had a built in water softener.

2. I got it for 10% off at Lowes so the difference was probably only $250.

3. I already had a Bosch dishwasher and knew they worked well, though my other one was not as nice of a model.

I've used it now for about a year. It works extremely well. If you have very thick dishes, such as Fiestaware, you may find some of the rack tines are too narrow for you. I use Corelle and have no issues at all.

I've had Whirlpool, Asko, and Bosch dishwashers. The Bosch is best, hands down.

Having said that I DID buy an extended warranty from lowes- they are quite reasonable - because I trust no manufacturer. But another Bosch D/W I have had been installed for 8 years and was still working fine as far as I know.

One additional thing: You can fit SO MUCH in that dishwasher I find that for me it fits almost as much as a 24" dishwasher. Absolutely huge stockpots I need to wash by hand - but that's a function of the dishwasher size, not whether or not it could do it.

One last thing - I have never had a dishwasher that cleaned as well as this Bosch.
