We recently bought an older home and one of the reasons I like it so well is the trim work around the doors. It looks to be cedar, and what I thought was a very bad staining job has turned out to be dried sap, probably many years old. Does anyone know of a way to remove this? I tried sanding and paint stripper, which turned it into a gummy mess. Any help would be appreciated.
