Bulkhead in my way! Help!

We are moving in to our new home soon and this bulkhead is already making me nuts! Lol
I have these amazing curtains to hang...but I really wanted them to hang ceiling to floor..but the bulkhead!! Am I bound to hanging them only below the bulkhead? Would I be stupid to hang them at ceiling height regardless? Input please :)

Paint the wall inside the bulkhead, and hang the floor to ceiling curtains beneath it. It would look pretty grand!

Ignore it and hang at the ceiling or do as Nik said. Just try not to cut your curtains off; let them puddle rather than destroy the length when you might change your mind and want to hang them high later.
BTW if that is a dining fixture, lower it to 36" above the table top, or lower.

HI -- Just hang the drapes in front of the bulkhead from the ceiling height , it will look fine . For a dining light fixture , hang 5 feet from floor to bottom of fixture. And if you are going to paint the walls , the bulkheads are part of the walls and not the ceiling.

Thank you all! I will definitely be painting the bulkheads the same color as the walls. The light is oddly placed, it will be over the couches, but I am going to replace it. Thank you again for the help!
