Try to catch a sale or a clearance at the big box hardware stores, and try to get a frameless door, one that will work with many styles.

If you're also able to remodel the shower at the same time then you could contact a few local glaziers to see what they have in their "bone yards". We've done a few charity projects and were able to get the clients beautiful frameless doors for almost nothing using this method. The only way it worked though was because we re-framed the openings to the sizes that were available to us. (And re-tiled etc)
