We are doing some work to our kitchen which will reveal an area that is not currently tiled. The rest of the kitchen is a slate that I am guessing is about 25 years old. Has anyone ever had any success pulling tile from an area that cant be seen, such as under the range or fridge, and putting it down in the spot that will be newly exposed (I mean cutting along the groute line and removing an existing piece)? Is this a realistic possiblity of just a fantasy?

If everyone feels there is no way to accomplish this, are there some slate specialty stores that might have a good selection from which we could generate the best possible match?
