craftsman pressure washer

I borrowed my fatherin laws craftsman 6hp pressure washer with a briggs and straton motor. I put a new plug in it and try to get it running... no luck... i decided to kink the water hose and it started and ran, but naturally i had no water pressure. so i unkinked the water hose and it dies everytime... any ideas??
