I had wool in my previous home on the stairs. No idea what brand. It was a light beige. It wore well but loose dirt was visible in between vacuumings and unnoticed cat hacks bleached it. It was put in by the previous owner to sell the house. How long do you expect to keep it? Unless you get something really high quality, I wouldn't expect to last all that much longer than a synthetic.
