And from a fellow bibliophile, good for you for reading the book first!

I am the same as you Moonshadow, I refuse to see movies made from books before I've read the source material. As you say, seeing a movie means that you are watching someone else's visualization of the characters. Not to mention that no movie can include everything in the books. Well, maybe those movies made from comic books but otherwise-things always get left out.

Some movies I just won't see anyway. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy, for example. Although by all accounts the young actress who played Lizbeth Salander is excellent, I have such a vivid mental image of her from reading the books, I don't want to 'spoil' it by watching someone interpret the character.

Ahem, enough book babbling---enjoy The Help in book form (it's great) and then as a movie. You are lucky in a way, you get to form your impressions then see something on the screen without waiting a year or more as usually happens with a hot bestseller.
