Yes, there is a means of accomplishing lower temps as there are three (3) different temperature adjustments:

1) Moister
2) Standard (factory default)
3) Dryer

There is also an Extended Cool-Down that has both a five (5) and ten (10) minute that can be added onto a cycle, but they add the additional time. I do not know whether you can accomplish this programming while on the telephone with Miele as I had ours changed, along with a firmware upgrade that was available, by a Miele Service Representative who used his laptop loaded with MieleVision to configure the changes.

Some other notes: There are two (2) drying sensors in the T98XX; Turbo option engages a second heating element to add more heat.

P.S. Miele Service Reps are the only ones who have the proprietary MieleVision software; third-party service reps are not allowed to have this software (at least at this time).
