I have a Carrier System that keeps freezing. I am on my third coil in three weeks. It is controlled by a ZoneX system. I am noticing that when the Y2 (stage two cooling) light comes on, that is when it starst to freeze. I also think I have a single state/speed compressor. Would it cause a problem if the controller is wired for two stage on a single stage compressor? Compressor model is Carrier 38EZG036 3-ton matched with a Carrier 3-ton Coil. I have two dampers. Basically, the systme is set to have one zone upstiars and one downstairs. Coil is new/not dirty. Fan blows air through the system. Puron pressures are not indicating a leak in the system and are charged correctly according to the service man. I have had several people out to check. The last $1,000 guess was I needed a new coil becuase the TXV may be bad. The coil I have now has an internal TXV and again is new? Could the problem with with the ZoneX control board?

ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Hell...it would probably be cheaper to fly you in to Austin, TX for a week's vacation to fix my AC than to keep dolling out money to servicemen who are guessing at the problem.

Aso the settings on the ZoneX are at the lowest temp on the low dial, the highest temp on the high dial for a difference between like 40 degress to 125 degress. The time dial is set at its lowest, which is about 5 mintues.

We have had temps over 100 degrees a lot this summer, but today is only about 90. SHould the Y2 light and second phase cooling be kicking in? Also, what happens if I just diconnect the wiring to the Y2...will that stop it from triggering?
