Have you checked that all four feet are firmly on the ground and the unit is level?

Also check to see if it's not your dryer venting vibrating off the back of your unit. When the metal gets hot it expands. This could be making it slightly touch the back of the unit. The sound could be transmitting through the metal from the back. And when you touch the machine it's stopping the minuscule amount of movement from the rotation of the drum, thus the noise stops.

Unit is level and nothing is touching the back.

I had repair guys out today and they tore the machine apart 3 times, every time trying to fix the vibrations with double sided tape... did not work... they came to the conclusion that there is something wrong with the frame of the machine.... so Im going back to the shop that I baught it from (also the ones that sent out repair guys) and ask them to replace this machine. They've never seen this sort of problem with LG machines before.

I had the same ghost rattle in my machine as well. I tore it apart several times looking for the source and finally decided it was a poor design of the idler pulley for the drum belt. I was able to minimize the rattle with the addition of a hose washer on the bolt that the idler pulley rides on. The rattle has been greatly reduced, but is still partly there.

I am surprised that there aren't more complaints about this from other owners.

Okay so got my replacement today and its doing it even worse than the first one.... WTF!!!

Rattle seems to be coming from under the unit, left hand side around the front. If I reach under and put pressure on the bottom of the unit around where I mentioned, rattle stops... starts again as soon as I let go :(

Im feeling I might send these back as this is driving me nuts.... Might just call it quits on LG and go for whirlpool / Maytag :(

If i put pressure on the left side panel around the bottom towards the front, the rattle stops too... returns as soon as I let go...

I really dont want to give up on the LG's... but Im getting frustrated... will see what retailer has to say on Monday :(

I recently purchased a LG DLE7100 dryer. The dryer had a dent on the top, right hand side. It took almost 3 months to get a replacement. I did my first load today and OMG, I have the same problem as you, constant vibrating/rattling noise. It’s so loud that I have to close the laundry room door. When I put a bit of pressure on the top panel, near the front, the noise stops.....when I hold the control panel with my hands, the noise stops....and when I push the dryer towards the back wall, as far back as it can go so there is no space between the dryer and the exhaust hose, the noise stops. The dryer is perfectly level. I’ve tried putting anti vibration pads, that didn’t help. The noise is driving me crazy!! I’ll be phoning the store tomorrow again. Not very impressed with LG .

I have the exact same issue with my LG dryer. I actually love the washer but hate the dryer just for that reason. My husband had to replace the so called self lubricating wheels with some that actually have bearings. It shuddered so bad it was unreal!

I just bought a LG DLE7300 dryer and when I turn it on it made a loud buzzing sound. I called the place I bought the next day. They came out four times to try and fix the noise. They replaced the motor, heating assembly and also added a rubber gasket to quiet the noise. So far nothing has worked, and the last time the repair man came he somewhat hinted I'd have to live with it? I bough LG because of its high ratings, not a happy camper. I attached the voice it makes, is this what you're hearing also?

I have the same thing on the left side of mine. If I put a little pressure on the left side panel, it goes away. The left side of the dryer is close to the wall (dryer on left / washer on right). I rolled up an old bath towel and stuck in on the side between the dryer and the wall. The rolled towel is thick enough to exert pressure on the left. No rattle as long as the pressure is on.

I too have metal rattling or buzzing noise from the day it arrived. Repair men have been out 5 times. Replaced motor, returned and pulled it apart and second tech replaced drum pulley and something else. Still making noise. The dryer is only 3 months old! Very unhappy. Have requested a replacement. Will see what happens.

Have the same problem with my new LG DLE7300. I didn’t use the dryer for the first couple days after installation so when I noted the vibration/rattle it was too late to return it to Home Depot. It is a VERY annoying sound and I also rush to leave and close the door. LG repair has been here 5 times and has replaced the motor and the heater, and secured the vent piece inside the dryer. Today they taped the wires down inside the unit. Hoping that fixes it.

Good luck with that… seriously since my husband replaced all the wheels mine doesnt shudder anymore but its the cheapest made, noting but rattle trap piece of crap dryer ive ever had…

I just got my dryer and it is making the rattling sound. As others have commented, putting pressure on either side stops the noise. I also can stop it by putting pressure on the bottom front so I rolled up some newspaper and pushed it partially underneath. That seems to stop it as a temporary fix. LG is probably using cheap sheet metal these days,

I too have a rattling LG dryer. I thought it was the metal gas hose connection rattling in back but established today it is the bottom panel of the the dryer unit. If I place my hand under the front of the unit and press up, the rattle stops. Moving the dryer to different postions, I noticed that the rattle goes away when the dryer is moved to a particular spot, which must be just the right spot that levels this ultra touchy unit. So my issue is the leveling, not internal parts. Now the challenge is to get the feet to the exact right adjustment so it doesn't ratttle when the dryer is slid back to where it belongs. Because I can't adjust the back feet in that position, the task is going to be annoyingly difficult. The dryer sits on tile which may make the rattle more likely. I have the same dryer at a vacation home which sits on luxury plank vinyl and it has never rattled.
