Dark Laundry HE Detergent

I've just gotten my first FL Kenmore Elite H3 washer and H4 dryer

Any suggestions for a good dark laundry detergent?

I always used Cheer for dark clothes in my top loader - now I dont know what to use for dark clothes

Persil makes an HE detergent formulated for colours and dark clothing. It's called - Persil Megaperls Color.

It's fairly expensive, but it goes a long way. Only a small amount is needed per load of laundry. You can purchase it from a nearby Miele dealer or order it online.

Persil also has a Megaperls formula for whites.

I use Tide HE powder with terrific results for both whites and darks in my Kenmore HE2T. I previously tried the liquid and think the powder does a much better job. I use about half the mfr recommended amount of powder. I don't even use bleach anymore on the whites and they come out much cleaner than they used to in the TL. The darks come out looking "brighter", too. A lot of people have mentioned on here that they're very happy with BioKleen Premium, I just haven't found any locally, and haven't gotten around to ordering it online.

Why don't you want to use Cheer HE?

Have you heard of "Perwoll Black Magic?" I found it on a site selling Persil and other HE detergents. I also found it on amazon with a positive/mixed review of it.

I was a devoted user of Woolite for Dark Colors before I got my HE washer. I have been using SA8 with TriZyme (someone told me it had a chlorine neutralizer in it, I don't know that for a fact) for my dark colors.

I ordered some of the Black Magic and will report back with what I find.

p.s. Evidently, Perwol is made by Persil?

I finally recieved my order of Perwoll Black Magic. I was happy with the results, my clothes came out clean and maybe even a bit darker than when they went in.

I only noticed a few suds on the surface of the glass door of my front loader. Measuring is kinda difficult, the cap doesn't have increments on it - and the instructions give you the 'dose' in ml for three levels of dirt, and three levels of water softness. I have soft water - and used a cap and a half and was happy with the result. I will probably just use a capfull from now on.

Seems expensive, but so is replacing faded clothes. I'll be looking for a better deal than what I got from Amazon. Kroger does special orders, so I hope i can get it from them.

Oh - and the Persil link...both perwoll and Persil are made by the same company. Perwoll is their product for delicate washings...sorta like woolite is here.

    Hope that helps.

    -Noah.

p.s. I did not detect any odor on my clothes after they came out of thy dryer as one poster on Amazon mentioned. It may be that the front loader rinses so well.
