Powder VS Liquid Detergent
Comments (116)So, some people were told by a repair man to avoid powder because it doesn’t dissolve well in cold water & will build up in the bottom of the drum. Then others were told to avoid liquid detergents because they’ll gum up your machine over time. I have a newer front load set & usually wash colors in cold. I’ve used pods but there was a time or two when they didn’t dissolve correctly & left detergent splotches on my clothes. So I switched to powder. I’m using tide with color safe bleach powder & arm & hammer with oxy powder. While both seem to clean & devolve well, you must make sure to use a lower dosage to compensate for the he machine. Add a second rinse if needed. Lately I’ve been considering trying persil the European detergent that has become available in the USA. It’s always getting high praise from reviewers & wins awards for the best laundry detergent. It comes in liquid or powder I believe....See MoreBest Dishwasher Detergent?
Comments (135)for diyher. to clean travel mugs, I buy small powder dishwasher detergents and use the hottest water possible, dump a little dry dishwasher powder into the bottom of the mug. fill with hottest water and let sit for a while. Voile' coffee stain will be gone. I had a stainless steel travel mug and tried putting it in the dishwasher, and it filled with water between the outside and inside wall of the cup and leaked all over my counter when I took it out of the dishwasher. I didn't do that anymore., I also have thermos jugs that get stained on the bottom. Same soaking principle works on them.......See MoreCleaning Product Substitutions?
Comments (39)Most of the commercial detergents and soaps are laced with chemicals that are very very harmful to humans and animals. Certified organic and natural products are quite expensive so I purchase ingredients in their natural form my grocery or market and mix them myself. Word of advise, don't use baking soda/baking powder as mouthwash cuz it contains aluminum which MAY cause Alzheimer's. Products claiming to be ALL NATURAL I believe contain the least harmful chemicals - everything goes through PROCESSING....See MoreI've seen towels mixed before with solids and pattern
