fleece sheets - any good?

I'm fed up with trying to find good flannel sheets (read: don't pill in the first year or two of use) for our CA King bed with an extra deep mattress. I saw some Sunbeam fleece sheets at JCPenney that would fit our bed and are well reviewed, and I thought that maybe abandoning flannel for fleece is the answer. Since they're polyester though, I'm wondering how well they "breathe." In that past I've steered away from any linens or clothes with synthetic fibers, but having relocated to NJ from CA, I'm struggling with the need for polyester fleece in our new climate. Has anyone used these type of sheets?

I just bought 2 of those sets for our boys. We keep the upstairs very cool and our house and windows are very old.

The boys have been thrilled w/ them and my parents spent the holidays w/ us sleeping in the boys beds and my dad said h thinks that they are going to get some. He realy liked them and they live up North.

My friend has them and she got them from JC Penney's. We were just talking about them on the phone last night. She loves her's. I am thinking about getting some for our bed.

I think Garnet Hill has the best flannel.

I've been wondering about fleece sheets thinking they'd be static-ee.

I love them. They are very warm and snuggly. Mine are "static-ee" but not overly so where it bothers me. I've had mine for about five years and the fleece is not really pilling but the sheet surface is somewhat textured looking. They are still soft and comfortable. I think it's worth it to try them for the coldest winter months.

got some washed out grey ones from target...oh no, wait...they were jersey material...now those were wonderful. The only ones I had in fleece, they pilled and I hate anything on my dry feet that is a bit rough....ugh. and they may have been target too. I have been nervous about fleece ever since. I do not remember staticky.

If you like flannel but are frustrated with the pilling
    you might consider LLBean.
This is such a great store that if after you use them
for a few months and they pill they will take them
back. True. They have a policy from 1920 or something.
My mother is an LLBean fanatic.

I have LLbean flannel sheets and I love them. They are
4 years old. No pilling. Gosh, I need to get new ones.

I did buy the jersey sheet from JCP for my son's room.
I do not like them. He loves them but the sheets seem
to be stretchy. They have not retained their shape.
JCP does make great products to check them out and see.
I just wanted to mention that there are companies
    that make good flannel sheets.

We have jersey knit sheets from Bed, Bath and Beyond. They do pile a little, but are so, so warm. No more climbing into a cold bed at night. :) I bought my son some and sent them off to college with him.

Mine are from Lands End and have held up great for a few years at least. I find flannel top and fitted sheets to be "too much flannel" so I used a flannel top sheet with a regular cotton fitted sheet and have never had a problem with static.

I second the LL Bean suggestion. The set we are using is about 6 or 7 years old and is still in wonderful shape. No pilling. We use the sheets about 3-3.5 months out of the year.

Me too for the LL Bean. Been using the flannel for the past five years but just converted to fleece, I love the snuggly feeling of them.

I haven't tried Penney's fleece sheets, but I special ordered some a couple of years ago and said I would never go back to flannel after that. This year I ordered cashmina sheets from Domestications and now I'll never go back to fleece :) They were only $49, much cheaper than my special order fleece, and so comfortable. I'm starting to see them in stores nows. I think I even saw some at Target.

The fleece sheets I bought for my son are the cat's favorite place to sleep. The combination of cat + fleece does result in some serious static. The cat actually sparks at night. I'm not kidding! Even with a whole house humidifer! But she is a lovely, fat, relaxed cat and seems to hardly notice, and my teen aged son is not bothered by it either.

I have flannel sheets from Lands End that have held up very well. I recently purchased some from Costco that feel even better but I don't know yet how they will stand up to wear and washing over time. I suspect they will wear very well. So far so good, they are very soft and snuggly!

The fleece (microfleece) sheets are too heavy/warm for us. But, we are in the South. We are experiencing abnormally low temps for us right now and yesterday the flannel sheets went on. I only have a couple of sets as they don't get much use, but love them. They've worn well, again, not alot of use. They fit the mattress well. I don't remember where I bought them, I'll have to check and see if there are any tags.
